Feeling better now 🤣
Another episode is in the books! We missed last week (which is good, because the Riders dropped a ton of news the day after we were supposed to record) so we have a lot to go over!

So much free agency news!
Ep. 304 - Land of the Free Agents

After dealing with the mf plague, we're back and have 2 weeks of Riders news to discuss! We talk signings, free agents going elsewhere and the job GM Jeremy O'Day has done this offseason!

My first car was a 1989 Ford Mustang. Not even the 5.0 litre version. I still bagged the ever loving hell out of it for years.
For sure - there is ZERO question that he's worth 200K in marketing dollars. My issue with marketing money is more as a whole than any individual deal. The fact that there is no cap to it is insane.

Allow $X per team in marketing dollars (all of which has to be accounted for) and I'm good
But thats not how marketing money works. His name selling tickets isn't enough.

"According to Ambrosie, anyone willing to do that must back it up with an appropriate amount of actual off-the-field work, including community appearances, outreach, or promotion."
There's no question he was worth that much money to the Lions - but I question his ability to do 200K worth of off the field marketing during the year.
It's absolutely absurd that teams can use marketing money for almost 1/3 of a major contract like this.

200K on a salary cap hit of 424 is bonkers.
Canadian QB Nathan Rourke remains the CFL's highest-paid player at $624,000 in hard money for 2025, per sources.

With $200,000 in marketing money, Rourke's salary cap number for this season checks in at $424,000.

OK CFL fans - Who's the one guy you hope your team goes after when the Ed Hervey Memorial Tampering window opens on Sunday?

For me, its a no brainer - The Riders need help in two areas. Offensive Line and DB.

Adding a top tier Canadian DB like Tyrell Ford would be huge for the ratio.
Who was it 🤣 I'm blocked too
As a Canadian Spurs fan, I would love to see Alastair Johnston with Tottenham. Ange would know him well (played for him in 2023 at Celtic). He's a right back
It's insane how much of a difference moving the app makes.
Downloaded the archive?
Its the people, for me. Lots of folks over there haven't made the move yet (or I'm not following them)

Pod side is another reason.

But that won't stop me from bring more active over here.
Its really crazy how I would just...click, click, open - scroll.

My feed news way more CFL content, but it'll get there.
That's the only thing that's kept me around.
Took some advice from @jgasson.bsky.social - moved my Blue Sky App to where my Twitter app used to be on my phone.

Its funny how I just instinctively click there - Already opened Blue Sky more today than I have before.
Well even if he only averages a TD a game at our stadium, thats still 9 return touchdowns a year. That sounds like a win to me.
The time has come - This Sunday, the Ed Hervey Memorial tampering window is open.

We discuss some names Jeremy O'day should be reaching out to as soon as the window opens.

Plus a deep dive into the O-Line and special teams.
Ep. 303 - Smashing the Hervey Window (presented by Dairy Queen Grill & Chill)

We discuss the latest #Riders signings, who O'Day should call during the tampering window and 2 deep dives for the price of one! We look at the Offensive Line and Special Teams!

They aren't gold - just regular old clubs - but I shoot left.
Who can blame you?... But now I want a blizzard
There is a ton of Spurs content on here (not that we want to see it right now 🤣)
I imagine they'll have Dhel Duncan-Busby slide into Ajou's spot if that was a locked in 3rd Canadian receiver (Kian Schaffer-Baker and Samuel Emilus are locked in starters at this point)
