I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

So now the Administration are saying that the mass firing of CDC scientists, including many responsible for preventing outbreaks, was an “error” and many will be brought back.

Whether by intention or incompetence, dismantling public health will kill people.

Being anti vaccines for babies is one of the surest signs of a declining civilisation. There could be no clearer evidence on childhood vaccination saving lives and preserving health and yet we’re being distracted by debating this issue.

In 8 months, this administration has done more to undermine science & vaccines than Wakefield’s bogus, retracted study linking the #MMR #vaccine to autism ever did.

Wakefield lit the match. 🚬
This White House poured gas. ⛽🔥

The damage to public health, vaccinations & health will last generations.
Taiwan is investing 1 million USD towards a Somaliland National Data Centre. Currently Somaliland’s gov is making decisions without reliable, accurate and homegrown data, with policies made on assumptions.

Somaliland Ministry of Health Development commenced childhood immunisation of rotavirus and pneumococcal vaccinations for the first time in the country. This is such a great step to reducing child mortality and health inequalities.
How long until we address the deteriorating measles outbreak in the US and its potential impact via diaspora travels to African countries with weak healthcare systems. We need to be prepared for imported cases.

When you get a vaccine or a medical checkup, we expect the healthcare worker to wash their hands and wear gloves.

We should think the same about wearing masks in medical settings. Viruses can spread pre-symptomatically; masks are another effective infection control measure.
