Sunrise hits the mountains in Lake Clark National Park, while a bear contemplates crossing the river. Her cub holds a fish behind her.

A bear and her cub stand out on rocks by a river bank. In the background, the sunrise is just hitting some jagged mountain peaks. Yellow fall foliage lines the river.

Sure do, it was a beautiful night in Massachusetts (looking north towards NH and Maine here).
Aurora borealis over the old quarry pit at Halibut Point State Park in Massachusetts during the solar event of Oct 10, 2024.

Caught this bee eater perched on a nicely arranged set of branches with warm light in the Okavango Delta.

I like the 1960s Batman style POW callouts.

Two male lions were following a hunting pride, and we caught this guy looking up while they passed through the tall grass.

As this small elephant passed, it raised its trunk to the sky like a periscope in the tall grass.

The cubs were about 3 months old, this one looks bigger without the adults for context.

Truly a scientific standard for these times.

This lion cub was walking with its pride, and looked back to make sure the others were following along. Seen in Botswana in the Mababe Depression at sunrise.

I had been in the "east africa" style Land Rovers before where your lens is out a window but you're pretty much in a metal box. The open top ones just feel different with the big animals around.

Capturing this lion was an experience to test the nerves. I was near the rear of the open-top vehicle and he came straight towards me and only turned away at the last moment to pass around us.

Saw these three giraffe nicely lined up in front of a forested area in the Mababe Depression.

This leopard hopped down from one tree and walked over to another, keeping a close eye on the pack of zebra that were behind our vehicle.

Definitely worth the sign stop

I saw a fox under a Yellowstone sign at the Silver Gate entrance once but it was too dark out to get a photo without disturbing it.

HTTP 406 isn't one you see a lot

The frame is kind of busy on this one but I think I can get away with it because the bird is so colorful.

Is this the one near the roadside monument to the bridge that previously washed away? Always thought that was a cool display.

This lilac breasted roller darted quickly one way and then the other, and when it landed we saw a fat spider in its mouth. Checking where it moved the first time, it had taken the kill from a spider-hunting wasp. Very fun seeing small scale hunting.

The hyena, stage right

Correct, I was lucky enough to visit.

Not sure, seemed to be looking for something, vanished off into the marsh.
