Today I finally saw the Settinsham Horde at Norwich Castle but unfortunately the legend telling you what each one was was not there. @tessmachling.bsky.social can you give me a clue what these are please.

So that’s Colchester Castle done. Tomorrow we’re heading to Norwich. Any recommendations on places to visit @theduncanmackay.bsky.social I’ve got Norwich Castle on the list.

Finally ticked Colchester Castle off my bucket list. Didn’t get to the Circus as it was a bit cold and drizzly and my two barbarians were sitting in the car waiting for me as the four legged one was not allowed into the Castle

For #HillfortsWednesday it’s an old set of photos taken at Castell Henllys Iron Age Village in Pembrokeshire back in a sunny day in 2023 when the Two Barbarians still consisted of Mike and Fred Dog Missing my Fred Dog rather badly atm but we will have to take Benny Dog to visit there one day soon

It’s a cold and grey Sunday afternoon so this afternoon’s entertainment reading this on my kindle by a certain @durotrigesdig.bsky.social of this parish

@drtobydriver.bsky.social do you know if the lecture at the National Library 2morrow will be recorded in some form? We’ve tickets but I currently have a hacking cough - my coughing can last for a good 5 minutes at a time if it’s still like this 2morrow Iwon’t be coming as it’s not fair on others

Called in @vindolandatrust.bsky.social this afternoon it was one of those sunny blue sky days but a bit nippy! Took some arty farty photos of the fire pit with the hex in it

Sending a big thank you to everyone involved in organising @vindolandatrust.bsky.social ‘s Magna Climate Conference yesterday. Absolutely brilliant I even understood some of the chemistry bits! Look forward to the next one!

Today’s crafty completion

And that’s another nail biting annual event done. Secured a place for next September digging at @vindolandatrust.bsky.social though it was a bit touch and go as I was about 440th in the queue to start with. Roll on next September!🙂

A dodgy entry for #HillfortsWednesday Pendle Hill. Apparently there were Neolithic and Bronze Age burials. I went for the Witches as I’m currently reading ‘Something Wicked’ about the families involved in the Witch Trials!

#ClassicsTober25 Day 4 Shroud. OK I’m going a little of track here! Many years ago I read a book by PD James called ‘Shroud for a Nightingale’. I can recall very little about it expect it was set in a Nurses Training School

#ClassicsTober25. Day 2 Thanatos the personification of Death. One of my favourite personifications of Death is the one in Terry Pratchett’s DiscWord who has a small sidekick called Death of Rats. This is a cross stitch that I did of Death of Rats

Whoops! Bit behind with #ClassicsTober25. So Day 1 Hypnos. I’m current reading the new Natalie Haynes Novel ‘No Friend to this House’. This is the passage where Medea deals with the dragon guarding the Golden Fleece calling upon Hypnos to aid her in her task. BTW NFTTH is excellent!
