Less work for you can mean more life for #wildlife. Fallen leaves aren’t a mess—they’re winter homes for insects, bees, and small animals. Rake leaves into beds, leave stems and seed heads, and wait until spring to tidy up 🍂 #leavetheleaves

Hear why this season is important for migrating birds and how to enjoy #Halloween without putting wildlife at risk. 🎃

🎃 #Halloween is nearly here, but some decorations can harm wildlife. With #fallmigration underway, thousands of birds are passing through. Keep lights soft, skip fake webs, avoid loops, and be mindful where you decorate.

🐢🎣 This Painted #Turtle came in with a fishing hook through its mouth and near its eye. We removed it and are monitoring for internal injuries. If you hook a turtle, don’t cut the line. Reel it in and call for help. Use barbless hooks and clean up all fishing gear. #fishing #wildlifeconservation
A Painted Turtle is held gently in gloved hands. A fishing hook is visibly embedded in the turtle’s mouth area, with the fishing line still attached. The turtle’s limbs and skin show red and black markings typical of the species. The Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Centre logo appears in the top right corner. A close-up of a metal fishing hook resting on a soft purple-striped fabric, with a small trace of blood visible on the hook. This is likely the same hook that was removed from the turtle in the previous image. The Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Centre logo appears in the bottom right corner.
