I get people wanting to hold these people accountable, and rightfully so but if we run off anyone who took some time to come to their senses or develope a basic sense of empathy. They are going to run right back to the people who make it easy for them.

I kinda run into the opposite issue where I'm trying to keep it on a more platonic level and I have people making connections I can't return
It sucks but being a caretaker as I see it means you get people on the boat, but they decide where to sail

I'm in a similar boat purposely, mine personally comes from being a fair degree of antisocial but being thrust into group situations and coordinating group meets and such.
That and I've noticed some people knowing x it y thing about me gets treated like a trophy and shared around.
