I can see that. But also I completely bought him as this particular brand of fascist.
If not for SINNERS, I’d say THE LONG WALK would be *the* movie of 2025. Could not be more of this moment.

“Fuck The Major!”
THE LONG WALK is powerful, vital filmmaking. Entire cast is just right, anchored by true star making performances by generational talents Hoffman and Jonsson. Lawrence’s direction precise and brutal, impressed by the restraint.
It’s my brother Jay’s 40th birthday. Family is all over, we’re doing pizza then THE LONG WALK.
Halo on PlayStation. Dogs and cats living together. Mass hysteria!
I love that in ADVENTURE TIME the only music to survive the Mushroom War apocalypse are sitcom themes and Mitski.
Netflix has a new movie from an Oscar-winning director up on their service today and it’s not pushing it whatsoever. You’d think I’d stop being surprised by this.
I was a producer on it and I didn’t even know until I saw my name
It’s been a minute since a new book has been as completely my shit as KING SORROW.
Underrated BLAZING SADDLES joke:

“I must’ve killed more men than Cecil B. DeMille.”
THE SHAPE OF WATER is just beautiful inside and out. Up there with my favorite romance storytelling in any medium.
Can’t see FRANKENSTEIN yet so I’m coping by watching GDT’s filmography in reverse order. Recently revisited NIGHTMARE ALLEY so first up is one of the best Best Picture winners ever.

“He sees me for what I am, as I am. He’s happy to see me. Every time. Every day.”

Just noticed a disclaimer on a commercial I’ve seen a few dozen times that read “Customer experience portrayed by artificial intelligence”.

Just thinking about how Quantic Dream announced a cryptic Star Wars game at The Game Awards and then we never heard from them again.
Didn’t they just announce an Eggers Christmas Carol like three months ago? And this West/Depp one is expected November ’26. Highly suspect!
It’s impossible for me to imagine people like Stephen Miller watching a movie.
