And I don't think you have to be a victim to create and enjoy such content either. But it *does* make my brain feel just a little 🤏 more fucked up, like I'm being protected against my will from seeing things I have the power and agency to moderate myself. By tagging it for people's safety I risk consequences, but I'd rather that than cause undue trauma. There are days that *I* can't enjoy certain things because I'll have nightmares reliving real experiences, but thanks to tagging systems I generally won't just stumble into that content. (cont.)

What *I* want to do is create art that's hot, of course, but at times cathartic re: my trauma as well. I try to make my intent known up and down on my profile, and I *still* feel a pang of guilt/dirtiness/shame whenever I post darker art (which becomes less when people enjoy it, but still) (cont.)

I tag things and am paranoid about my warnings because the last thing I want to do is make someone uncomfortable, but it gets to a point where adults need to be given and trusted with tools like blacklists and settings to curate an environment online they feel safe in. (cont.)

I don't go into shit like this a lot but Bsky's new rules help make me feel like a gross POS for liking what I do. Shit was done to me in the past that gave me a bad/weird relationship with sex and creating/engaging in 'dark' content on my own terms gives me back the agency I didn't have. (cont.)
