Daisuke Igarashi very deliberately builds Children of the Sea slowly, establishing a tranquil mystery looking at life and what we don't yet know about it. Over 5 volumes it asks questions you won't find in any other graphic novel.

We've only just discovered Aaron Lopresti's Garbage Man and like it a lot. It wears its influences on its sleeve, but makes something new from them and Lopresti's art might be a career peak. @darkhorse.com

Enormously popular from the 1980s in Japa, Tsukasa Hojo's City Hunter has never been fully translated into English. @abramscomicarts.bsky.social have now begun that process via their Kana imprint. "smart, funny, well thought out and dynamically drawn".
