The President wouldn't last five minutes as an air traffic controller, and after everything they've been through - and the way this administration has treated them from Day One - he has no business shitting on them now.

If you're looking for good reading material I will again recommend "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond. It's one of the most interesting books I've ever read, and you get a really great perspective of how we evolved as a society. It's not 'perfectly' sound, but definitely worth the read!

This is a preliminary vote to ensure Dems will provide votes for a stop-gap until the end of January on the shut-down. It reinstates federal workers, food aid, veteran's programs, and that a vote will be taken mid December on the healthcare subsidies extension.

Interesting read. It seems ridiculous we're even here when the administration has various means to fund SNAP if the chose to do so. The circuit court is dragging their feet. Justice Jackson may have just expedited the matter, whatever the final ruling may be.
Read about WHY Ketanji Brown Jackson stayed the SNAP order. Her move is probably the best solution for getting SNAP benefits approved quickly. open.substack.com/pub/stevevla...
190. SNAP WTF?
A very quick explainer on what (and why) Justice Jackson issued an "administrative stay" in the SNAP case late on Friday night, and on what's likely to happen next

Do not get angry at Schumer for "backing down" as this makes Republicans glaringly responsible for the shut-down in their refusal, all to please great leader. They're truly not happy with any of this. Now the ball is in their court and they have no place to go. HCR breaks it down. 👇
Heather Cox Richardson, an excellent historian, that gives meaning (clarifies) what Schumer/Democratic leaders just proposed to end the Shutdown.

Patti Smith was on Colbert last night. I LOVE that she added some of the "People Have The Power" lyrics at the end! ❤️

I heard some old friends at Pod Save America were in town, so I decided to stop by. As we saw this week, we can change this country for the better. But it’s going to take all of us getting organized and having honest conversations about the best way forward.
