Our govt want to make changes to the Equal Pay Act that will make it harder to raise a claim of unfair pay based on gender discrimination.

So a blatant reversal of progress.
'Disgusted' isn't an accurate enough word to describe how I feel.

To my Kiwi brethren, please vote for this petition for NZ parliament to corral and limit Winston Peters' attempt to pull populist transphobic bullshit. Signatures are coming in fast, but we need 25k for it to enter parliamentary debate.

(a statement which reads as follows:)

This week, with the blessing of the studio’s management, members of Balancing Monkey Games left work to march in protest of the government’s attacks on Te Tiriti - the Treaty of Waitangi.

Te Tiriti is central to the history of New Zealand, its laws and its constitution. It is the founding document of Aotearoa as a state, and represents the beginning of partnership between Māori and The Crown. We thoroughly reject the current government’s attempts to leverage its legislative stranglehold to unilaterally pass an act which flattens the ‘partnership’ nature of the Treaty, removing its capacity for tino rangatiratanga: the Māori right to self-determination and sovereignty. We find it frankly ridiculous that one side of that partnership is attempting to change the legal interpretation of the agreement, without meaningful input and consultation from the other party.

We cannot afford such a step backwards in times like these, and we will continue to use our voices & bodies to oppose this proposed act and all that it represents, and to stand in support of Te Tiriti.

We urge our supporters, regardless of where they may be, to share the message of Toitū Te Tiriti far and wide. We urge you to follow or support the ongoing hīkoi mō te Tiriti as it continues to pass through the country this week.

I feel sick & angry when seeing that a convicted felon, homophobic, racist, rapist was elected in the US.

Now is the time to wrap around the people that are scared & fight for them. Scream for them.
Show that human rights are, and always will be, more important than money.
