A meditation on death:

I can only hope
that when I die
I shall become
an ecosystem

#poetry #witchsky #circleoflife
Opened up the apps, didn't see this anywhere. Didn't even hear it on npr on my drive home. Grazie mille, giornale italiano.

But the death of Charlie Kirk is everywhere.
Here's my dress in the wild!

Ignore my sunburn. I am not cut out for tropical islands. But I think the dress says "70s beachy vibes"

#sewingsky #garmentsewing
A photo of a woman in a green dress with gold accents on a beach in front of the ocean.
I went to California to visit the redwoods. I'd never seen #poisonoak till then. It's so pretty.

Of course now I have real pressed #poison oak in my office and I'm not sure what to do with them.

But the non itchy print is available at ecobota.com

A brown clipboard holds a printed image of Western Poison Oak. It is printed on a white background with the Latin name labeled across the bottom.

The clipboard sits on a background of gray wood floor planks.
I've honestly never seen someone else use one! So I was very excited to see your photo!
This is my hand-me-down sewing machine and I love it.
Grandma's quilting stash and fabric shop close out. But I actually MADE something with my hoarded fabric. Here is my all quilting cotton dress.

It's giving me #70s #gunnesax vibes. My husband thinks it's more #gameofthrones. We have different cultural touchstones.

A green dress with mustard yellow details around the waist and neck hangs on a black hanger against a green wall.
Well, I don't love the wording on this.... it's "illegal to attack and kill a woman's child without her consent?" Sure, but let's not attack and kill children with her consent either.

But also, a fetus isn't a child, so... I don't love how they're applying this.
Everything might be going to hell but at least the Erie sunsets are still pretty.

A photograph of the setting sun along the shores of Lake Erie. The sky is a hazy blue at the top with some whispy white clouds. As it gets towards the horizon it becomes a pink, then orange, and orange red against the water. The sun is almost touching the horizon and is a bright yellow ball.

The water is steel blue and streaked with waves. There is a ripple of orange highlights on the water in a line radiating from where the sun is positioned.

In the foreground is a rocky beach highlighted by the orange sunlight.
The more I poke around on Facebook the more the dead internet theory seems to be true.

I doubt those are even real human people at this point. Just AI bots programmed to say inflammatory things to provoke engagement (because good or bad, engagement is all that matters)
She's finished! This lovely #vintage dress was far too small for me so I altered it for my frame. I loved the boat neck but I couldn't get the bust line to work with it, so I had to pivot to straps.

Not my best dress sewing work (there's a reason I'm only showing the front) but I'm happy.
A white vintage dress with pink and blue accents on a dress form. The altered dress with a square neckline, pink straps on the same dress form.
The thing is, I have no idea what I'm doing.
I bought this beautiful #vintage dress for 10 dollars even though it's a 24 inch waist and had no real bust to speak of. The skirt is full, so I can make it work. The trick is sewing a bodice that actually fits my frame but still let's me incorporate this stunning embroidered material.
A bodice laid out on white fabric. In the background is a dress making form with the matching skirt attached and a messy room corner covered in draped fabric
I think those both ARE baby turtles. When they're young you can count the rings on the scutes like rings of a tree. After about 20 or so they start to smoosh together but I think these photos look like they are only 6 or 7.

So they won't have babies for at least another decade
I moved this friend off the road today...

Remember to watch for #turtles!

#herpsky #boxturtle
An eastern box turtle on the pavement of a road. The turtle is completely inside it's shell. The green grass of the roads edge can be seen on the left.
I haven't done a craft fair in AGES. But this one is in my town and completely fits my #witchyvibes #SciArt heart. It's a beautiful day to be outside celebrating art!

#magicmoonmarket #witchsky #ecobota #pressedplants
A black banner with a crescent moon on the left. The sign says "magic moon" in white and "market" in purple. A green display with 8 different botanical prints. All all #poisonplants. The display is labeled "poison plants" and "baneful herbs" A table with two open art books open to pages of pressed plants. The table is covered in burlap. A white business card holder filled with ecobota business cards sits between them.
You just *found* that buckle? It fits the dress so perfectly!
Took me FOREVER to work out that it was because it was Amy Winehouse.

Like, and embarrassingly long time.

But anyway. My commute is long and that's how I keep myself sane.

Do all of the stories follow this format? I don't know, though I hope the answer is yes and I just don't always see the connection.

Like today's report on how small US wine makers still have to get their supplies from overseas. Ended with the instrumental version of "back to black"
How the tariffs are impacting already weirdly high sneaker prices? You can be sure we're about to hear the 90s trip hop vibes of "6 underground" by the Sneaker Pimps.
My most favorite bit of nerdom is trying to guess what song @npr.org is going to use for the outro/transition music between pieces.

Report on corvids that can do complex math? @countingcrows.bsky.social obviously.
