How to course correct what appears like an environmental & social disaster, being accelerated by an influx of investment?
So I'm looking forward to attending the second annual @aifortherestofus.live conf this week since I'd like to hear about how folks are deciding to respond to these challenges.

I'm a skeptical user of AI tools. I see they accelerate a lot of existing issues in society, turbo charging them. I don't buy the Silicon Valley hype, but I do see folks around me use tools every day and LLMs being increasingly embedded in enterprise software.

Had a fantastic time at #AllDayHey @heypresents.com in Leeds. Ninth year it's been running and I finally got to attend! Was a real pleasure to give a talk here. I'm already looking forward to returning this time next year to see folks at the next one! Best part of events like this is the community.

how to find the balance between not having unnecessary interactions to access information but also, not causing cognitive overload with too much information on the screen in one go. is it just about good spacing and visual hierarchy? #AllDayHey

What about technical complexity. Increased of making users click a button to access an address in a popover, why not just display the address? Users might not know they need to click the button to access the address. #AllDayHey

So how can we tangibly change things? There is research already done that we can look at to simplify things.

What about adults with poor literacy levels? Maybe due to disability or English as a second language.

Plain English. Active voice. No unnecessary words or jargon. #AllDayHey

Remember back in the lockdowns during the pandemic when we had to use digital services to arrange vaccinations? Quite straightforward. 20 million adults booked this way. #AllDayHey

For some this was the first time using digital services for health.
