I’m looking for people who *post* about San Francisco, not just people who live here. Please comment everyone I’ve missed!

"Maybe you thought the man behind the Blinking White Guy meme was a young Cary Elwes or an unknown actor from a stock video clip, but all along, he has walked among us right here in San Francisco."

Ohio’s new age verification law targeting porn goes into effect today, which means people will either have to use a VPN or submit their IDs to use Bluesky. This is Project 2025 in action. The goal is to limit freedom and make it harder to access anything remotely progressive

We really are. Contrary to Klein’s characterization of Coates as pessimistic, Coates is very inspiring to me.

I don’t think Klein and Coates are the same type of writer or that they have the same purpose within the political movement, and that’s okay. I agree with Coates that we all have different roles. What frustrates me is that Klein isn’t working beside the left right now so much as sabotaging it.

On the plus side I've never been as wrong about as many things as many days in a row as Ezra Klein

I know I am late to the discourse, but the Ta-Nehisi Coates and Ezra Klein discussion is fascinating. It really reveals the degree to which historocism is anathema to the logic of the average liberal intellectual who wants to take all historical conditions for granted and work from there.

One of my takeaways from this past year is how much I look up to Ta-Nehisi Coates. He’s everything I want to be as a writer and communicator.

Thank you for everything you do!

Damn, yeah! I wouldn’t be surprised if the LA Times has a couple staffers that live in and cover the Bay Area.

Get this staff a raise! 👏👏👏

Woah, that’s really saying something! Over here it was several seconds of hard shaking, including enough noise and jostling that I was worried something was going to fall over.

Oof I’m sorry! I hope you can resettle!
