Also worth pointing out about me and my audio tools and VSTs and all that is that I'm *cheap as fuck*, and will make due with free shit. So probably not worth looking for promoters or customers from this direction

I also fired up FLStudio for the first time in a long time and fucked around with the idea of producing theme songs for my characters. Or making synthwave covers of whatever I thought would be fun or cool

Fucked around with generative AI, this time with Krita's ComfyUI plugin. It was a fun experiment, but like with all AI results I've done so far, I avoid posting them so that I don't contribute to AI slop pollution. This is a whole topic in and of itself, so I won't elaborate on it here.

Visited Berlin with my cuz for a week on July. Amazing fucking trip, I love that city. It could be a separate thread all it's own.

Survived a heat wave. Turns out, this apartment turns into a sauna in the summer (not in good way!). Portable AC really saved my ass on July and early August.

Mentioned or alluded to this in a previous post, but I got a mortgage and bought an apartment. I'm a big boy now! Lots of stress with the paperwork and money and move and all that, but that's all taken care now, and been living here since for over 3 months now and loving it.

Please fix image uploading to your innerweb site on Firefox. Uploading and loading images is literally a 30 year old technology, I don't understand how you could bungle that up at this point. It's kinda embarrassing.

I always found it funny how people judge and dictate furry's choices on their characters like:

"But your character should not have nipples or a navel since they are a bird/ dinosaur/ lizard! They come from an egg."

- If you're modeling "blocks of hair", curve objects work really well for that. Needs a bit of separate learning by itself, but gets you *way* better results than attempting to sculpt them manually. Basically you just add curves along the head that taper off at the ends as strands or clumps of hair.

- Just like with sketching in 2D, start from a rough shape and then iterate further into more detail. It's harder to make large changes without distorting or destroying small details if they're already in place

- You can drag and drop references (front + side) into your blender window and set them up in such a way that you see it simultaneously with the sculpt itself. Helps with blocking out the model's rough shape!

- If you break your model apart into different body parts, use mirror modifier with a shared mirroring object to keep everything aligned
- You can copypaste bits and pieces from other models to block out your characters - maybe even a whole base mesh (plenty of them are free and CC licensed)

I don't have any tutorials at hand, but uhh, here's some misc tips:
- Block out your character's rough shape in edit mode with primitives before diving into sculpting
- You can sculpt different body parts as individual objects and then merge them together later
