Seattle-based game marketing goon at Pokémon. Formerly Capcom & Six Foot. I also love writing, photography, and world travel. All views and opinions are both my own and likely based on a Simpsons quote.

Making a belated intro post to pin. Hello! I'm a gaming marketer and raconteur in my latter 30s who loves telling stories (real ones).

My interests include:
-Video & Board Games
-Capcom (Old employer)
-Pokémon (Current employer)
-D&D
-Simpsons
-Hiking/Outdoors/Animals
-Photography
-Writing
-My son
I don't know what's crazier, the fact that the health insurance customer support rep I was talking with implied my son's autism was caused by vaccines, or the fact that she apparently could not think of the word "vaccines" on her own.

How I'm feeling finishing out 2025.

We've been introducing our son to kids educational videos on YouTube, and part of that has been spending huge amounts of time soft-blocking channels of just pure toddler brain rot.

Considering how much effort I'm putting into curating it, I can only imagine how bad things are for your average kid.

Finally got a new, cordless set of hair clippers, so I can retire this set that I've literally been using to cut my own hair since, like, 2007.

Part of me wants to wax nostalgic about this old thing, but let's be real, the new set is much better.

Got a big influx of new followers (and hello to you all!). Guessing that means things are going even worse on Twitter?

For anyone who complains about either Christmas turkey or Christmas ham: please consider converting to Christmas tamales. We're much happier over here.

Me, watching the evil fire & ash chieftain in Avatar doing drugs and committing ritualized murder: "I can fix her."

I recently received a mini rock tumbler kit that is marketed to kids, and while I'm enjoying the process so far, there is not a kid alive with the patience for rock tumbling as a hobby.

Man, this has been a horrific weekend for news.

Just started playing Dispatch, and it is absolutely surreal to me that it take place in Torrance, of all places.

My wife and I have some homemade pizza. Who did it better?

(My son thought they both looked unappetizing, lol.)

I've had this going for about a week now, and my god, this place is so much more serene and usable. Highly recommended!

Just remembered that I left half a rotisserie chicken in the office fridge, and I wonder how confused people will be in the morning.

I'm not as anti-AI as some folks (at least in non-professional settings), but I have never been angrier than when a creative agency's ideation deck was chock-full of AI artwork. Not only did it mutilate the look of our characters, it also made me think that the ideas themselves were also generated.
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

Simpsons trivia is hilarious to me, because there's never a middle ground - it's either always:
"What is the name of the Simpsons' 10-year-old 'brat' son?"
or
"What has a direct correlation to the rise in gang activity?"

Probably one of the best little changes I made at work this year was switching from "👍" as my general acknowledgement emoji to "💪", which goes from seeing passive-aggressive to active-supportive. (And since doing so, I've seen some colleagues also making the switch.)

This is by far my favorite genre of spam/phishing email. I am just always tickled by the very concept of an email marketing system that - from the moment you sign up - actively encourages you to unsubscribe.

Looking at all the Game of the Year nominees - and all the games that didn't get nominated - the only thing I can think is, "Wow, this was a good year for game output! I wish the industry was in better shape."

Absolutely piercing insight there, Disney.

Frankenstein is a tragic tale of a reanimated man who has the misfortune of constantly standing next to dying people when a crowd rushes in.

On Halloween, my wife finally gave in to my months-long campaign to get her to watch Sinners, and she's been listening to the soundtrack since. I feel accomplished.
