A photo from 1983 of 'my first flight in a glider'. We did a loop-the-loop & stall recovery from a steep climbing turn. I was in the left-hand seat. The Chilterns can be seen in the distance, and I have flown over them many times since. We were winched into the air. This is a Slingsby T21.

The kids had travelled 30 hours by train to Solotvyno and then crossed the border into northern Romania, where they were welcomed by a team of teachers and volunteers. Two weeks away from the bombs, shells and missiles gave them time to relax and play outside without fear of being killed.
As part of a broader initiative, I ran an art therapy session for Ukrainian children who live under the threat of drones, bombs, missiles and artillery shells. The kids drew life before the war and now. The charity behind this work requires funding to expand the project to other children in need.

Found in my daughter's new house. This is Lancaster bomber, NX611, which is being restored to an airworthy condition at East Kirkby airfield. The inscription says 'To Ken Jackson from all the troops of G.E.F. Feb 87'. Sqn Leader Ken Jackson passed away on 27/5/2010, aged 86. He retired in 1983.
