GPT couldn’t confirm the English lineal champ, estimated it was Bath. I was secretly hoping it had been snatched by London Welsh, Rotherham or Orrell and had actually been competed for in the lower leagues for years.

With all of the power of generative AI I decided to double check the full URC lineal history from Pro14 to current day and by chance Stormers are undisputed URC heavyweight champions. Ex champs are Leinster, Ulster, Munster and Glasgow.

I can’t wait until next week when the mighty Zebre beat Stormers and take the lineal URC heavyweight title from them. Then the following week Leinster can snatch it back from Zebre

Week 3 - its title fight Friday. URC heavyweight champions the Stormers travel to Wales to face the Scarlets. I predict a new champion with weakened opposition the trend for teams on the northern hemisphere tour.

To make this season more interesting and combat those pesky R360 scamps, I propose treating the URC and Prem like WWE. Last years winners start off as champs and have to defend each week. Leinster already lost the URC title to Stormers, Bath defend tonight against Sale.

Other than the disappointment of losing in the quarter finals, today felt like the day that this World Cup lost its spirit. France played a full Rassie, win at every cost game and at times it felt nasty. If I wanted nasty, I’d watch Leinster play.

I can’t argue with that. Football and rugby the excitement is over in 2 hours. Cricket drags that out for approx 7 hours whilst allowing continuous drinking in the stands. Stewards trust spectators, spectators largely behave.
