We are currently in attendance at a large fire within a quarry in Lossiemouth

Seven fire appliances are in attendance at the Sunbank Quarry

Avoid the area as far as possible and, if you live locally, keep windows and doors closed for the time being

This Sunday, Firefighter George Gourlie of Peterhead Community Fire Station will undertake an incredible challenge, a 555-mile cycle around Ireland in five days.
Firefighters in Ayrshire are highlighting the dangers of entering derelict buildings and setting fires.

The area has seen a number of these types of incidents which are a needless drain on resources and dangerous.

As a precaution, members of the public are being asked to avoid the area and those who live nearby are advised to close windows and doors due to the smoke in the vicinity.
