We owe it to firefighters to keep them safe.

But they suffer a significantly increased risk of ill health as a result of their work.

Tomorrow we're leading a debate in the Scottish Parliament calling for the investment our fire service needs.

Public transport in public hands πŸ™Œ

Affordable, accessible and reliable public transport is good for everyone.

Publicly owned services like Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Trams can put people first and reinvest profits in public services.
Edinburgh buses and trams both report increased patronage for 2025
Edinburgh saw an increase in the use of public transport last year, with both Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Tram reporting an increase in passenger numbers for 2025.

Scotland will expand free school breakfast clubs and support former Mossmorran workers.

It will be paid for by taxes on private jets, shooting estates, and million pound homes.

The Scottish Green proposals were accepted by the Scottish Government and announced in today's budget.

The Scottish Government has agreed to both key
@scottishgreens.org tax proposals:

✈️ A new tax on the 12,000 private jet flights taken in Scotland every year

🏰 A 'Mansion Tax' on £1 million+ homes

This will raise millions for services like schools and our NHS.

Funded hours starting at the next term after a child turns three is a problematic, outdated system across many local councils in Scotland.

It's a postcode lottery that's costing families thousands. Tomorrow's budget can change it.

Gambling companies make huge profits by preying on the most vulnerable. Regulating them is reserved to Westminster, but we can increase their taxes in Scotland.

That way they would be forced to pay for the damage they cause to individuals and society.

A mansion tax would raise over Β£125 million for schools, social care, leisure centres, and other local services and infrastructure.

We're calling on the Scottish Government to introduce our mansion tax proposal in tomorrow's budget.

One key change the @scottishgreens.org are pushing for in this week's Scottish Government budget is an end to the hidden childcare penalty for families whose children are born in March-July.

If childcare is truly 'free at 3' it should start on the Monday after every child's third birthday.
Scots parents would receive free childcare under end to 'hidden' penalty
EXCLUSIVE: The Scottish Greens say they want to close a loophole that denies three year olds free childcare hours.

It's time we taxed the super rich fairly to fund the services and infrastructure we all need.

All children deserve the best start in life, regardless of where they live.

We're calling on the Scottish Government to ensure free childcare always starts when a child turns three and not months later.

When maternity leave ends, there is an expectation that you will simply go back to work, organise childcare, and it will all fall into place. But for a lot of new parents, it isn’t that simple, writes Gillian Mackay ✍️

Less than four month til the election and Labour have so little to say they’re going to wave through the budget without trying to make it better, and *without having even seen it* 🀯

What even is the point of Scottish Labour at this stage?
Scottish Green MSPs have used budget negotiations to deliver free bus travel for young people, scrap peak rail fares, fund nature restoration, expand free school meals and more.

Labour have campaigned for nothing and achieved nothing.

I'm delighted that this new approach to affordable buses has been achieved through @scottishgreens.org budget negotiations.

Capping bus fares at Β£2 is designed to make public transport more accessible and boost Scotland’s climate commitments!
🚨 We're introducing a £2 bus fare cap in the Highlands & Islands!

Starting at the end of January, the cap will roll out across the region, meaning you'll never pay more than Β£2 for a single ticket.

More money in your pocket, and a cleaner environment for everyone. πŸ™Œ

Every day we see where the politics of Donald Trump and the far right leads.

It's a politics of hate, fear, corruption and destruction.

It's a politics everyone in Scotland must stand unequivocally against, abroad and at home.

Reform are driving hate and division in our communities.

We can't allow that to happen.

Life has become much harder for many folks across Scotland.

But the scapegoating and false promises from a millionaire-backed party will change nothing for the better.
