Our upcoming exhibition, 'Through Ice & Fire', opens on 12 September at the Polar Museum. A fusion of contemporary art and cutting-edge Antarctic research, the exhibition connects geology and our industrial past with the science of glaciers, ice sheets and the climate.

She wears a headset and is seated in front of several colourful maps pasted on the wall behind. A camera sits on a table in the foreground of the photograph. Behind is a blurred view of a library with stacks of bookshelves and 3 people (in green, blue and grey clothes) sitting at a table. One is drinking from a mug.

Come and see our library display curated by two of our Museum volunteers, Dora & Freya. The display explores the development of Victorian Alpine exploration, the first successful ascent of the Matterhorn, and the history of wood engravings, illustrated through the work of Edward Whymper.
