A good morning watching the Fallow Deer rut on Cannock Chase.

The bucks were constantly scenting the air for does in heat and pestered likely candidates relentlessly.

Fights breaking out sporadically between rival bucks.

I had a good afternnoon @rspbcymru.bsky.social Cors Ddyga today.

Just about caught the Glossy Ibises before they flew off for a couple of hours.

Little Stint also.

The marshes are nicely full of water, unlike a month ago.

Fantastic afternoon at RSPB Conwy yesterday.

Dipped on Wood Sandpiper (again 🤣) but caught up with the 3 Curlew Sandpipers and had superb views of a Little Stint.

Tea and Bara Brith to finish 😋

Had a great day on Anglesey yesterday.

Started at Malltraeth Pool then a sadly bone-dry Cors Ddyga.

Redshank, Curlew, and Blackwit, a few Knot, Snipe and, happily, Ruff - that most elegant of waders 😊

First 7 minutes today produced 3 Ospreys, a Buzzard, 2 Red Kites, 2 Kestrels and a Raven.

Supporting cast of Stonechats and Sedge Warbler.

Beautiful weather as well.

A thread of photos of butterflies, dragonflies, grasshoppers etc from Saudi Arabia.

As I never found a "Field Guide to Insects of Saudi Arabia" I never really tried identifying anything.

So I'm posting them here for the titillation of the intetested observer.
