A bit of reflection. 💜

I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since Undertale’s release. I still remember how attached I became to this game all those years ago. I remember the awe I felt as I traversed the Underground. I remember the joy I felt while getting to know its inhabitants. The short, punny skeleton was my favorite. (Clearly, he was. I made a whole visual novel to love him LOL)

I was in my 20s when it first came out. And as I look back in my 30s, I can see I've done a lot of growing up since then! I’ve had so many life experiences that have shaped who I am today. But despite everything I’ve encountered from then to now, it’s still me.

And even if my love for the game and its characters has shifted and new loves bloom elsewhere, my love for Undertale never truly disappeared. It will always have a place in my SOUL. This world, these characters, the impact it’s made in my life, how it inspired me to create…

I didn’t gain LOVE.
But I gained love.

And even 10 years later, it makes all the sense in the world.

Happy 10th Anniversary, Undertale. 💜

My identity is something I consider very personal to me. I don’t normally share this part of myself openly online.

All I will say is that even though I discovered this term later in my life, it still was just as validating.
