High profile WC mistakes definitely happen in the men’s game too, but in women’s rugby they get held up as proof for doubters. Players/officials feel like they have to be better just to avoid that dismissal. Which is obviously grossly unfair, but a cock-up like this is just ammo for people.

I know people will say sour grapes and that we could have won the game regardless, but to say it wasn't clear to the TMO is just bs and tries to mask a massive failure of the process from all involved whereby a captain highlighting serious and obvious foul play is essentially ignored.
