Perfectly put. I'm going to share this far and wide 🙏🏼😁

From my hemiplegic migraine group
“You don’t look sick” Thanks that’s the goal. But here is what you don’t see. I cancel plans, I rest for hours after a shower, I forget basic words mid sentence, I grieve a version of myself barely remember, fight everyday against a body that doesn’t cooperate. It is not just tired. It is chronic illness.

Great on the iron infusions! Always good to hear other's good news stories, takes a bit of the tarnish off my own life! 🤣
Work+weather is kicking my ass at the moment, fatigue is drilling me into the ground most days which is less than pleasant. Anyway, mustn't grumble, could be a lot worse!!💪🏼

😲 That's brave, both at the same time. I learned from last year's misadventures doing that. Took me out for almost 4 days 🤬 I've spaced them a week apart this year and hopefully that's enough separation to avoid the nasties! Good luck to you though and I hope your weekend is thoroughly enjoyable 😁

85F is a bit spicy for me indoors. Outside though, lovely! I get my office at home up to 25C (77F), that works for me. My living room is SW facing with all glass back wall, it gets to 26C (79F) easily in the Summer months, love it! Again though, better outdoors.
How are you keeping atm?

Complete opposite for me. I can't function as a human being much below 20C 🤷🏼‍♂️ I'm an MS rarity I know, cold intolerance is my overbearing weakness.

💡 Delighted to share!: In MRI of multiple sclerosis, a simple switch in sequence nearly DOUBLED the number of active lesions we can detect.

3D T1 turbo spin echo improves detection of gadolinium-enhancing multiple-sclerosis lesions - Insights into Imaging
Objectives To compare the performance of 3D T1 turbo spin echo (3DT1TSE) and 3D T1 turbo field echo (3DT1TFE) MRI in detecting gadolinium-enhancing lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS). Materials and methods We retrospectively analyzed 255 3-T MRIs from MS patients, each including post-contrast 3DT1TSE and 3DT1TFE sequences. Two blinded readers independently assessed enhancing lesions per sequence. A consensus review, incorporating longitudinal imaging and additional sequences, served as the reference standard. Results The consensus identified 70 enhancing lesions in 31 patients. All 70 were visible on 3DT1TSE, while 64 (91%) were detectable on 3DT1TFE. Reader sensitivity was higher for 3DT1TSE (84% and 90%) than 3DT1TFE (45% and 40%) (p < 0.01). Inter-reader agreement was excellent for 3DT1TSE (ICC = 0.90) and moderate for 3DT1TFE (intraclass correlation coefficient = 0.69). Although false positives were more common with 3DT1TSE, they were readily excluded during consensus reading. In six patients, enhancing lesions were detected only on 3DT1TSE, with treatment escalation in two. Conclusion 3DT1TSE outperformed 3DT1TFE in sensitivity and reader agreement for enhancing lesion detection in MS. Incorporating 3DT1TSE into standard MRI protocols may improve disease activity assessment and clinical decision-making. Critical relevance statement Replacing 3D gradient-echo with post-contrast 3D T1 turbo spin-echo brain MRI greatly improves the detection of gadolinium-enhancing multiple-sclerosis lesions, boosting diagnostic sensitivity and reader agreement and directly influencing treatment-escalation decisions in routine practice. Key Points Detecting and enhancing MS lesions is limited by standard 3D T1 turbo field echo (3DT1TFE) MRI. 3D T1 turbo spin echo detects significantly more gadolinium-enhancing MS lesions than conventional 3DT1TFE. Greater lesion detection allows more precise activity assessment and optimal treatment management. Graphical Abstract

Soz, my misunderstanding of your words! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Sightly frustrating results but I'm erring on the side of positivity, in that there might be some more good news 10years from now! 😂🤷🏼‍♂️ Remyelination is the gold medal, we all need and want this yesterday (or 20 years ago for me!)

Been twice. 1st was many years ago and it was new and exiting at the top of the Tropical dome, 2nd time on a gifted voucher, nothing changed in a positive fashion. Got bored, left. It's a no from me.

No attendance for me, just caught sight of that article and found it interesting it was pointing at Metformin, which has been spoken about for a number of years now. Were you disappointed with all content, or just some?

It was a tough friendship to make at the beginning, but it's a friendship I'm so grateful I made pretty quickly! Making the physical disability so clearly visual is really important IMO, the psychological impact shall remain invisible to most.

I'm so glad to hear this! Having had 10years of infusions myself, in hospital every 4 weeks, now once a month 10sec subcut at home, the convenience of not have to drive anywhere and sit for hours is immeasurable... as long as it's working of course! 👍🏼

Good morning!

There's something deeply ceremonial about the first dip of coffee. It's like the opening act to the day's drama.
