When the groomer doesn't pay attention to the request for the grooming, and shaves off so much hair that you don't even recognize your dog when you pick her up. Crazy, especially as the cold weather is here. Glad the kitty loves her and will snuggle her to keep her warm. Photo 3 is her real look.

As SNAP support is ending, I think I need to raise money for the big food bank here. Should I think of a new color or bring back Unity and Strength colors that raised a lot of money. I did create and name those colors for people supporting each other What do you think would be popular? #providefood

So happy to have nonsuperwash BFL yarn back in stock! I've missed it so much. Love how it takes in colors.

Today I received my grandma's lifelong bible with all of her opinions written in it. The first thing I read was "A man's true wealth is the good he does in this world" and that really spoke to me (for women too). Clearly the billionaires are selfish, not truly wealthy by doing good in the world.

Can confirm that the IRS is such a mess. I've talked with three people today (finally got past the AI "helper") and the last one put me on hold for 5 minutes and it has now been 45 minutes. The office is closed now and I'm still on hold. I think she just left without ending our call. Awful.

My sweet old lady still loves to play. I'm so happy that she's still in good shape at almost 13 years old.

Exciting news for local Portland OR area knitters. in 6 weeks I'll be opening a pop up shop in downtown Milwaukie at @spokeandwordbooks.bsky.social that will go through the holidays! Hopefully this will be successful enough to have a yarn shop in downtown Milwaukie for the long term.

I have the most fun dyeing heathered grey yarn bases. This heathered grey BFL/silk base makes the most lovely moody colors. I'll be unveiling this beauty at the Flock Fiber Festival in Seattle next month. I love this new base that I had custom milled. Now I need to cast on a project! But which one?

New friends living in our back yard! I'm so happy to have chickens again after 8 years without them. Yet another good reason to have moved back home to the PNW. Chickens are a key part of my happiness - it's like having a TV show going all the time in the yard. They'll be getting a new coop built.

Today is the first Milwaukie Fest day in downtown Milwaukie! If you’re in the local Portland metro area you should come and check out this fun event. A great kid playing area, vendors and more. I’m doing a trunk show at Sewcial Studies on Main St. hope to see you!

Such a great article about the community power of knitting, sewing and other fiber arts. Grateful that Teen Vogue is doing a great job of educating teenagers about civilization, not just fashion.

This year (and past years) I dislike celebrating the 4th due to politics. I’ve hated it for years because of the fireworks. My dog is in freak out mode now that she’s an only dog. Hopefully she won’t get me out of bed 7 times like she did last night. I wish people would consider their neighbors.

Alright everyone. Republicans are going to force a vote on their gender affirming care provision even though it violates Senate rules. They’ll need 60 votes to keep it in. Now is the time to make your voice heard and ask your Senators to stand on the side of health care freedom.
Transgender medicaid ban and definition of sex are back in the federal bill - Dems can raise a point of order and force a vote, and as long as we don't lose 7 dems on this, Dems can keep it out.

Definitely worth some phone calls folks.

This means that Democrats will have to raise a point of order on this part of the bill. This would force a vote on the amendment that would require 60 votes. Republicans have 53 Senate seats, so it means they would need to pick off 7 Democrats for this.

Life has changed so much. My English lab Hank has passed over the rainbow bridge due to many health issues. My home feels so empty and sad. I will always miss that sweet boy.

Just got a new yarn base to try out that is 50% nonSW merino/50% cotton in DK weight and I'm officially obsessed. The way they spin it means that it looks marled with how the dye is absorbed. Can't wait to explore even more colors. This one is Riptide.

Was satisfying to dive into fixing the backyard disaster with all the rain/sun combo. Bought a new electric mower which tackled everything better than the manual, and also installed new fencing. Very happy and tired.
