"Many of us depend on our phones to be, well, more than phones. They are our computers, our maps, our calendars and our cameras. They can also be our gateway into citizen science." Cell photos snapped by the public help scientists track shoreline changes at different MA beaches.

"There are projects all across America – from Cape Cod, down to Louisiana, and up to Michigan. Projects are often collaborations between organizations, companies, and communities, and they create jobs and foster connections across sectors." (1/2)

Favorite place to take in the ocean?! Aaaand go!👇With 1,519 miles of coastline in MA, we can't pick just one. Every federal $1 spent on WHOI Sea Grant generated nearly $6 in economic impacts (2023) and empowers us to care for our critical and beautiful natural resource.

"I am allergic to lobster. I grew up in Chicago, and deep dish pizza is our pride and joy, not lobster rolls. When I moved to Boston to study journalism and environmental science at Northeastern University, my college-student budget prioritized coffee over seafood dining experiences. And so.." (1/2)

It's officially summer! ☀️Cape Cod mascot Doug the Quahog will predict how many beach days we'll have this season. But the quahog (the Wampanoag word for a hard-shelled clam) gained importance thousands of years before Doug came along, as an integral component of the Wampanoag people's culture, (1/2)
