And when Reki shows up to work on his birthday, Langa is there to make it extra special. It reportedly took Langa very little convincing to get Manager Oka on board with his plans. The two of them stowed away a pair of leather skating shoes that Reki had been eyeing all month.

Reki practically vibrates with excitement before snatching Langa into a crushing side hug. He stares down at the open cardboard box, taking in the contrast of crisp, clean white against their pop of color.

"I wanted to make sure we had some in your size," Langa squeaks, his voice strained from how tightly Reki holds him. "Did you look inside?"

"No. Is there something else?"

The white tissue papers crinkle as Reki digs around in the box and plucks out a small bundle. It's a pair of shoelaces in a matching vivid hue-and their unique packaging makes it clear that they didn't come with the shoes. Reki recognizes them as the laces designed to be practically indestructible to skateboarding. Dope Sketch had been selling them for a while, but he'd never thought about picking up a pair for himself!

Reki cackles. "Oh, that's so sick!"

"I got to use my employee discount," Langa brags, like a dork.

Just like they do with everything else, they dive in headfirst. Langa closes the gap between his lips and Reki's, and Reki has never been happier to be a faulty Alpha.
