As you may know, my favourite deep-end-of-the-pool horticultural podcast is #InDefenceOfPlants. It’s a bit late, but here’s a great one on the benefits of leaving leaves. Check it out and subscribe!

Our big Waterdown eco-landscape is all finished and put to bed. Now we have to wait till spring for everything to come up. But I CAN’T wait! 😂 There are probably around 100 different host plants in this garden. (plants for caterpillars to feed on).

1 of my fave things about landscaping? The incredible life we see! Yesterday, I heard a sound. My head shot up as I looked to the sky and saw a flock of #SandhillCranes. The flock grew as they used the thermals from the Niagara Escarpment to climb in the sky! Magnificent!

Had a fun day with the crew. We went and visited #LittleCanada. Fun and I loved how it built people‘s curiosity about Canadian history! They had a stunning miniature version of Vancouver’s Dr. Sun Yat Sen Garden!

Michael Albanese of #AvesiStormwater and I are finally working together on a project! It’s a long-term series of mostly native plant gardens coupled with several #RainGardens. It’s going to be beautiful, and it’s great working together!

#SeedySaturday at the #GuelphPublicLibrary - 100 Norfolk St.! Lots of free seeds and cool vendors and folks to ask questions of including the Master Gardeners. I will be at their advice table just inside the door upstairs.

If you take the time to read the whole Gates memo (which I did), the bulk of the content was mostly solid and encouraging. Really!

It was the FRAME that was off--very off, from the first line.

And when your framing is off, then how you make decisions and set priorities is off. THAT'S the problem.
