ok that's more like it, we're finishing strong.
It's doesn't even matter what 'The Girl from Arkanya' is about... you have a big ol' Capybara best friend so it already wins.
Hate to harp on the nightmare fuel thing but...
What am I even looking at here?
'City of Dolorosa' is set in a version of hell realised in a handmade india ink art style.
Other than that I have no idea what's going on here.
'Gloomy Juncture' calls itself a neo-noir psychological thriller set in the 90s.
But again, that art style is kinda nightmare fuel.
'Mr Sleepy Man' is meant to be a wholesome, old school 3D Platformer experience.
But honestly, this art style is kinda nightmare fuel.
'Plum Road Tea Dream' is true art house gaming.
An surreal & meditative experience taking you through the autobiographical thoughts & struggles of a Queer, Black game developer.
'Map Map - A Game About Maps' tries to make a gameplay mechanic out of real cartography techniques.
(and yes, that is the full title)
Use the actual tools & techniques to properly chart maps of undocumented islands.
Yeah it is kinda weird that we've got two games in a row about mapping.
'Engraving' is a horror game set in a constantly shifting supernatural forest.
The only way to wrap your head around where you need to go & how to account for the changing environment is to draw & update your own map notation.
'CHILDREN OF SATURN' is a grounded found footage coming of age story about a group of teenagers growing up on Mars.
Honestly this sounds like it would've made a great sci-fi indie film.
(I don't know why the title is in All Caps)
'Penguin Colony' is an adaption of H.P Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness.
Except it's from the point of view of a penguin...
Didn't see that fresh twist coming did you.
There are a lot of games where you're a hero on a journey to defeat a final Boss.
But in 'The Dark Queen of Mortholme', you ARE the final Boss.
Sit on your throne & deal with the Hero every time he shows up for a confrontation, with him adapting & getting better every time he fails & reloads.
ok, now we're getting a little too creative.
'Moldwasher' is a cleaning game where you're a Sushi washing away some mold.
...ok
"Pigeon Love Story"
I don't need to know any further.
The title is all the elevator pitch you need.
Some standouts from the recent Six One Indie Showcase
>>>>>
The world's tiniest war game.
'Toy Smash Kaboom!' has you lining your toys up on the counter to go to battle against your opponents collection.
'KuloNiku Bowl Up!' takes the Cooking Management Sim genre and makes it fast paced & fun.
It's got the spirit of Cooking Mama, but with a Saturday Morning cartoon twist.
Think 'Lethal Company', but much more whimsical and with a whole lot of Dimension hoping.
'Fish Stick Protocol' also supports 8 player squads, which is definitely going to make for some chaotic, slapstick filled raids.
In 'Storebound', you and two friends are trapped in a cursed department store.
Try to escape with the demonic employees hunting you.
'Beneath' is being billed as a "Lovecraft inspired Survival FPS"
That just means Cthulu is coming for you and you won't have enough bullets.
'INFERIUS' is a take on Dante's Inferno with a Lovecraftian twist.
It also involves challenging the Lord of each of the 9 Circles of Hell to cards (?!)
'Appulse Pinball Shooter' is exactly as the name suggests.
It's a genre fusion combining a pinball machine with a twin-stick shooter.
'Dancing with Ghosts' is a cosy narrative adventure about an orphan who befriends a ghost.
They say the day to day gameplay takes the form of a simply Life Sim around the village... for those extra cosy vibes.
'Moses and Plato - Last Train to Clawville' is more than just Agatha Christie for furries.
It's essentially 'Murder on the Orient Express' except you are the primary suspect & the train journey occurs in real time, so you have limited time to solve the mystery.
'Saveseeker' has a clever premise.
A famous RPG adventurer has completed his quest but has fallen to temptation at the last second & threatens to make the world even worse.
As his time traveling daughter, team up with the bosses he defeated & travel to all his Save Points to delete everything he did
'ANTHEM#9' is an attempt to "Balatro" the Match-3 genre.
oh, and an Anime aesthetic just in case that first part didn't trigger your gambling gene.
In 'Strange Brew', you're a Duck Mascot for a local coffee shop that has to avoid zombies.
Honestly, being caught at work in your clunky, inconvenient duck costume at the start of any apocalypse sounds like a worse case scenario.
