Is anyone else bothered by the sentence, "He was a former ....." Isn't he still a former? My high school English teacher, years later introduced me saying, "He used to be my former student." So I had the please of correcting his grammar. Life is good.

Companies deduct executive compensation from their profit. A simple law, not determining executive compensation, but limiting how much they can deduct as a legitimate business expense would do a lot toward bringing executive salaries down.
