Macklemore Calls Out United States Government with New Track
Macklemore is not mincing his words. Taking to social media earlier this afternoon, the rapper turned social activist uploaded a new track and video titled "fucked up." - a direct call out of the American government and political affiliates who are contributing to the current downfall of socio-economic conditions both in America and on a global scale. Opening with intersecting clips of people holding Palestinian flags, protesting ICE and other political regimes while celebrating their brief freedoms, the track starts heavy- making a direct statement about the country being on fire (both literally and metaphorically) and calling out the lack of control American's seem to have over their own futures.

20 years ago today Illinois natives The Academy Is... launched into their debut era with the release of their album Almost Here. A ten song, 32 minute listen, Almost Here quickly became a fan favorite following its release. Leaning into the teen angst that was prevalent in pop rock music of the era, the barely 20 year old band members sang about their fears of growing up, becoming sell outs, watching relationships fail, and what they hoped their legacy would be down the line.

Doechii Releases New Single “Nosebleeds”
Fresh off of her first Grammy Win, rap star Doechii has dropped a brand new single to remind everyone why she is an artist to watch. Titled "Nosebleeds" the track asks the question "what will happen if Doechii doesn't win the Grammy?" and boldly answers it with "I guess we'll never know." Serving as almost a secondary Grammy Acceptance speech, set to a catchy hook and an earworm of a beat, the track acknowledges the singer's trials and tribulations along her rise to fame and shouts out those who helped her get there- including her record label, her family, and her close friend/collaborator SZA, taking time to throw some digs at her haters along the way.
