What are abstract ideas like “being happy” and “having fulfillment” compared to real world achievements like “working full time for a company and still needing food stamps”

Thanksgiving is always a weird one for me for some reason and while maybe one day I will have one that is just right, the day is still what you make of it. I'm so thankful for my darling @mathhappens51.bsky.social, our sweet kitties, and the wonderful people who cooked today so I didn't have to.

An AI-generated Christian artist named Solomon Ray has taken the gospel music world by storm after topping the iTunes and Billboard charts with his album “Faithful Soul.”

The No. 1 Christian artist topping the charts has no soul — thanks to AI

Seven years ago I ate a giant burrito in front of @seejayswans.bsky.social . Apparently that was impressive to her for some reason. We're married now.

As a professor grading midterms it’s so depressing to see a generation taking leaps backwards in literacy. Even more depressing to see school systems and unis buying the magic beans of Gen AI instead of focusing on teaching students adaptable critical thinking skills.
Kinda not sure what we're supposed to do about chatGPT being as normalized as it is. I feel like everyone that's either very young or very old is into it, millennials largely being the only normal ones lol

Very very sad to hear of Pierre Robert's passing. A genuinely good guy who really loved music and Philadelphia. What a loss

I’ve seen just one counter-protester at No Kings San Diego. He’s got a Trump 2024 flag and this guy has been following him around for probably an hour playing Benny Hill and circus music.

One year ago today, a coworker of mine in her 40s suffered sudden cardiac arrest. Thanks to another coworker (and numerous first responders) who knew CPR, she was resuscitated a total of 4 times. The 4th time stuck and today we spent the day laughing and hugging and dressing up as death together.
