Rather than addressing the budget shortfall and providing property tax relief through equitable measures such as pausing income tax cuts, the Legislature plans to cut essential services and raise taxes on working Nebraskans—all to benefit Governor Pillen, not the people.

The Legislature is attempting to cut essential services. These cuts are short-sighted as there are more equitable solutions to filling our budget deficit.

I am introducing an alternative to LB 261 and LB 264, the state budget. AM 1303 and AM 1295 tackles the budget gap, prioritizes essential services, and protects the long term financial health of our state.

Nebraska Senators are holding town halls in La Vista, Omaha, and Lincoln regarding medical cannabis.
