In 2004 I attended a Howard Dean rally headlined by Rob Reiner and Martin Sheen. After speaking, they started signing paper invites. I’d brought a DVD instead. Reiner spotted it, made a beeline to me, signed it, and when I said I loved his movie, he smiled and said, “Thanks! Me too!”
