Sex Matters to Quakers wholly endorses Stonewall's quietly updated definition of transphobia. "prejudice or negative attitudes, beliefs or views about trans people. This can include the fear or dislike of someone based on the fact they are, or are perceived to be trans".

Good point. Men should not be in female spaces, no matter how they identify. Whilst most men are kind and decent it is impossible to identify those who wish to harm women, hence the need for legitimate exclusion of men. Everyone knows what sex they are.

The stigmatising and silencing of people with genuine concerns about the harmful, profit driven, medicalisation of young people; women's (and men's) sex based protections - most often felt by our most vulnerable - and concerns about the erasure of same sex attraction, is an ongoing scandal.

Bringing your authentic self means being open to new ideas, and curious to learn. Authenticity is not the wafer thin but glossy and impervious narcissism badged, promoted and sold to vulnerable people for profitable gain.

The definition is much improved from Stonewall's previous one. There is still widespread public belief that "misgendering" is always transphobic - directly due to Stonewall campaigning. Stonewall would get more public credit if they promoted this definition as widely as thier last, confused, one.

Aversion to deductive reasoning inhibits the societal ability to examine evidence and nuance. When looking at sex based rights, which everyone agrees are crucial for the protection of women and girls, what are our assumptions?

How do you think more critically?

1) Identify the core reason you hold a belief.
2) Eliminate your core reason from you position. Are your other arguments sufficient to warrant your belief?
3) Make good arguments against your belief.
4) Try to work out, with others, how your belief could be wrong.

Most people would agree that sex is real and has consequence. Most people would agree that cutting healthy body parts off children, most who would otherwise grow up to be healthy gay adults, is unconscionable.

All of them to none of them depending on the context. Whilst most men are lovely 98% of violent crime is commited by men, regardless of how they identify. That is why women need single sex spaces.

There's nothing transphobic about caring about young people. Throwing around insults isn't helpful. Blocking legitimate points so people can understand the issues displays an authoritarian mindset.

Vulnerable male prisoners deserve protection. Solutions can, and should, be found within the male estate.

Female crime is largely non violent and female prisons reflect this by being largely open plan, focused on supporting the extremely vulnerable prisoners. Males are now being housed in the female estate, a loophole easily exploited by dangerous men. Quakers can advocate for change.
