Chicago led the charge for Sustainable Community Schools, and it’s time for San Francisco to follow suit! These 6 elements of Sustainable Community Schools are essential for us to have schools which are equitable and just for ALL students.

All students deserve schools with comprehensive support and resources. The Sustainable Community Schools model provides this for our students! Read more about implementing SCS in SF here: www.sanfranciscoeducationalliance.org/school-closu...

Our kids deserve better!!! Mission Education Center, a school for newly arrived Spanish-speaking immigrants opened the school year without a principal, without teachers, and without enough staff. SFUSD must fully fund and fully staff our schools NOW.

SF School Serving Spanish-Speaking Immigrants Is ‘Severely Understaffed,’ Parents Say | KQED
A group of parents wrote a letter to the San Francisco Unified School District raising “urgent concerns about the unsafe and unacceptable conditions at Mission Education Center.”

SB 414 is a terrible bill that must be stopped. Instead of reforming charter laws, it makes them worse. It protects charter operators, weakens accountability, and opens the door to another massive scandal like the $400M A3 fraud.

Big thanks to everyone who showed up to the board meeting yesterday, your voices matter!

And thank you @avalossf for taking this picture & supporting public schools!

Charter schools take money away from the public school system and provide unstable, unaccountable, and inequitable alternatives

We say: NO new charter schools!!! Our students deserve better.

It’s back to school season!📚✏️ Imagine a world where our students returned to fully funded schools, wouldn’t it be so nice?

City College opens doors, provides opportunities, and improves lives.

We must ensure that CCSF stays well funded so that students are able to utilize resources, get the classes they need, and are set up for success for the rest of their life.

The Trump administration just unfroze BILLIONS in education funds that were on hold. That’s money for after-school programs, teacher training, and more.

THANK YOU to everyone who called their reps! This is what people power looks like.

Amazing graphic from @evolve_ca

Ethnic Studies helps students see themselves—their cultures, histories, and identities as part of the bigger story. It creates space for students who have been left out of the narrative for too long.

In a city as diverse as SF, removing Ethnic Studies is erasure.

A new NCCSA report tells the truth about charter schools: They’re a grift funded by corporate interests to privatize education. Our students deserve better!

They siphon money from our public schools for for-profit alternatives w/ little-to-no oversight.

The right-wing assault on public education is here!

SCOTUS just greenlit dismantling the Dept. of Ed & Trump’s freezing $6.8B in school funding.

We must defend public education. Our kids, teachers, and future are on the line!!!

Last night at BOE, several mostly Venezuelan parents who stay at the BVHM shelter begged the district to improve shelter conditions. Their kids - students at BVHM - don't get enough sleep, they don't have time to get ready before class, and parents & younger kids sit in a park all day
Heartbreaking and infuriating to hear immigrant families at the school board who stay at the BVHM shelter saying that getting kicked out at 6 am means their kids fall asleep in class and they have nowhere to go during the day. Asking our Sanctuary City to do better

We connected w/ the Houston folks in this @haveyouheard.bsky.social episode and held a solidarity read-aloud. The TEA takeover policies are slowly happening here in SF, thanks to a certain "governance" consultant. Where he goes, schools close. #EduSky
