I did this, and highly recommend volunteering with @sftrees.bsky.social if you’re able. It was very healing to find that even I could contribute something, and to learn that I have multiple neighbors who are physically capable of swinging a pickaxe for 4 hours on a random Thursday! Very impressive.

What a fun planting at the Vermont Greenway and Eco-Patch in Potrero Hill! 21 volunteers planted 17 coast live oak—trees native to the Bay Area. A big thank you to GIC for bringing fantastic energy and for their generous support of this planting.

63 volunteers planted 46 🌳 last week in the Excelsior! We're doing a series of plantings w/ the SF Interfaith Council & a range of faith communities. This planting's faith community was the SF Campus for Jewish Living. Supported by a grant from @americanforests.bsky.social, we hope to plant 600+ 🌳!
