Anyone looking to adopt a battle-tested TypeScript polyglot? 🐙
Ex-PayPal, Amazon, Protocol Labs — raised the bar at Amazon, led OSS with ~60k–100k+ MAU, and helped shape IPFS & libp2p.
Looking for a fun, high-impact project to code, mentor, and keep pushing systems (and people) forward.

You replaced the one that says “Sgt-est of the Pooki”… i cant remember which

The real issue? People expect free content forever, but don’t want to run nodes. Crypto folks understand you pay gas. Same rule applies here: the world isn’t free, and FOSS at scale doesn’t maintain itself unless someone’s funding(has funded) the devs. Fund or fail

To be fair: Brave has partial support for both BitTorrent (via WebTorrent) and Tor (private tabs). Brave even ran a full IPFS node (kubo) for a while.

(Go-verified-fetch is sorely needed)

on X: “which browser can i paste a CID into”

Wild how IPFS gets flak for not being “built into browsers,” while BitTorrent needs a client and Tor needs its own browser. UX is about the same; easier, even, with ipfs-companion or gateways. The tech isn’t the problem 😬, the expectations are. #ipfs

Another great writeup by Daniel. @ipshipyard.com has been working to improve the story for direct retrieval for browser clients. The direct retrieval experience is much better than it was 2 years ago

Oddly enough, Firefox in Playwright behaves differently on a hard refresh compared to the actual browser.

Or maybe the hack I had to do in Playwright to simulate a hard refresh is insufficient. Has anyone had to deal with this with service workers?

I was really hoping ML and AI would be so much more but it’s turned into such a cash grab. It makes sense, but I don’t have to like it. Hopefully we’ll course correct or something.

Thanks for the kind words 🥹

I have done some work with ML and AI, but that was before all the AI girlfriends.

I appreciate the well wishes.. If nothing pops up, I might just hire myself.

Is anyone interested in getting better IPFS support in HTML and browsers? The state of HTML survey is open.. we could probably mention IPFS a few times in here.. survey.devographics.com/en-US/survey...
