Anyone looking to adopt a battle-tested TypeScript polyglot? ๐Ÿ™
Ex-PayPal, Amazon, Protocol Labs โ€” raised the bar at Amazon, led OSS with ~60kโ€“100k+ MAU, and helped shape IPFS & libp2p.
Looking for a fun, high-impact project to code, mentor, and keep pushing systems (and people) forward.

This is a massive improvement. Upgrade your Kubo nodes.

It should have been a short film. 15min storyline milked and beaten to death with a crappy ending.

The movie didnt tell a story, it subjected viewers to a few moments of interesting conflict that it replayed from multiple views with characters it continued to leave more underdeveloped each time, and then it left scared.

No name because it failed so bad and I donโ€™t want to feed it.

If you are using #ipfs @ipfs.tech @filecoin.global @ipshipyard.com, you should check it out. It's in alpha, but it's pretty exciting stuff!

The real issue? People expect free content forever, but donโ€™t want to run nodes. Crypto folks understand you pay gas. Same rule applies here: the world isnโ€™t free, and FOSS at scale doesnโ€™t maintain itself unless someoneโ€™s funding(has funded) the devs. Fund or fail

To be fair: Brave has partial support for both BitTorrent (via WebTorrent) and Tor (private tabs). Brave even ran a full IPFS node (kubo) for a while.

(Go-verified-fetch is sorely needed)

on X: โ€œwhich browser can i paste a CID intoโ€

Wild how IPFS gets flak for not being โ€œbuilt into browsers,โ€ while BitTorrent needs a client and Tor needs its own browser. UX is about the same; easier, even, with ipfs-companion or gateways. The tech isnโ€™t the problem ๐Ÿ˜ฌ, the expectations are. #ipfs

Another great writeup by Daniel. @ipshipyard.com has been working to improve the story for direct retrieval for browser clients. The direct retrieval experience is much better than it was 2 years ago
