Like at a time where I wasn't really making a point to revisit retro games like I do now, I was still busting out Mega Man X.

I think MMX 1 is the first game I ever consciously realized "I'm going to continue revisiting this game for the rest of my life" and was like the first time I realized I had a "comfort game" before that was the term to describe it.

I do have a really nice copy of LotR and 3 complete sets of the movies but I haven't gotten the 4k versions.

Trying to explain to a 9 year old why I kept saying the Louvre heist is exciting and that it is a victimless crime while still maintaining setting a good example is one of the greatest challenges I've faced as a parent.

Yeah a lot of the "low" settings are basically like playing on a PS5 or an Xbox, like they're still great.

Oh hey that's not as low as I might have thought. I would run into the game's performance getting worse the longer I was playing it and that was on a 4070ti, game is demanding as hell.
