Found this on eBay. Rare Emery Hawkins art (like his animation) from the 1920s or 30s.

Nice animation done by Emery Hawkins from the short, "Holiday for Drumsticks." I love the way Hawkins handles the hillbillies (Maw and Paw) here. Really good subdued and lethargic acting in this cartoon.
Everything is restored, well, maybe some are old TV prints, this is Terrytoons after all.

Terry, in his later years, painted and sculpted until the day he died.
From 1921 to 1929, Terry was involved in Aesops Fables, which originated from a idea from Howard Eastabrook after Terry was excused from the army. The series inspired a young Disney during the Laugh-O -Gram era, in which him and the crew would study the film strips.
The whole story (the reason why Gertie is on screen, is, of course, he was inspired by it):
Terry was the first person to make a cartoon that makes people laugh. In 1915, in 2 to 6 months in his living room, he made the cartoon "Little Herman". While he was at a shop, he showed the film to children, and they laughed, which convinced Thanhouser to distribute it.

Do you know Paul Terry's early work? I certainty do, because I was introduced to the Aesop's Fables series (albeit the latter 1930s cartoons without his involvement) on DVD when I was little. You know him for Mighty Mouse, but I know he's a underappreciated pioneer.
A look at the first Mighty Mouse broadcast on MeTV toons on Nov. 2. First we have a Mighty mouse cartoon, the first one actually, then the first Heckle and Jeckle cartoon, a Terry Bears cartoon, and the rest of the Terrytoons crew.
Pitzipie cartoon #002, offically called "Pitzipie's Grand Splash", is officially finished. That's it! All you have to do is wait an hour or two for the video to be posted on Newgrounds. In the meantime, have this.
Nearly finished with the damn thing, now all I have to do is put sfx, audio, and music. Coming out late october. (note: this is from late July, before the animation was finished, here's a teaser of what's to come.)
One of the bidders of the Warner Bros sale is MGM. Imagine Tom and Jerry, Droopy, and the rest of the MGM cartoons returning to MGM. Man, what would that be like?
