I use DaVinci Resolve too! It's a great app. I usually edit my audio in Audacity first and then import it into DaVinci for video (unless I'm making the short in Canva, which is often easier).

I really like that! I don't think it's lazy, recording lines and editing everything together is tough 💀 (as someone who's done it a lot). Plus, reusing stuff for shorts seems like the popular way to go instead of doing a whole other project.

The words sound really alarming, but it's to legally allow them to display your content, and to resize it to fit in thumbnails and stuff, all basic uses. You're going to have to have that anywhere you want to post your images and stuff.

So a lot of social media sites have similar clauses to cover their ability to display your content on their service wherever you put it, and so others can reblog it, like sharing it here. If you delete it from their site, it's off of it. That right is then revoked.

I usually only publish one full novel a year, mostly because I'm doing/organizing everything myself and it's a lot of work and money.

There's also no ads, so if you want to go on there to 'sell' your books, don't do it in a way that looks or reads like an ad. I just share a bit more personal stuff about it and some related graphics, and I add an option to find it if people want to. Just be human and not a marketing machine.

The other thing I really, really like about Pillowfort, is it's focused on making connections and interacting, not collecting numbers. You have no clue how many followers anyone has, you can only see your own stats. And that's so nice because it makes everyone feel equal.
