I’ve got dibs on the FIFA Lifetime Achievement Grammy. Who do I need to get in touch with?

Another follow-up comment. The Beach Boys are set to have a box released covering the 15 Big Ones/Love You/Adult Child years. These were not their most commercially accepted albums, but we’re going to get them with some TLC applied. It can’t be about money, can it?

Just as a quick follow-up: all(?) of Robin Gibb’s recordings done during the brief breakup were released. Barry and Maurice solo and the unreleased Kick in the Head shouldn’t remain disappeared. It’s good!

Does anyone know why The Bee Gees catalog hasn’t gotten the copyright release treatment? Beach Boys’ previously unreleased material was a revelation once it got cleaned up and released properly. There are dozens of Bee Gees songs I’m aware of that need to be heard. I’m sure lots that I’m unaware!

Oh, you make music?
I'd love to hear (about) it, and I'm not the only one I'm sure.
I will repost everything ✌️🖤

New release! Two songs originally recorded for inclusion on a Bee Gees tribute Lp. Either I was too late or the compilers didn’t have room… I never found out the reason. Available on Bandcamp now, will hit the usual streamers soon. Enjoy! Repost!

Are there any independent agencies keeping track of everything that’s being destroyed by the current US administration? The rebuild is going to be a bitch at best, impossible without a coherent roadmap.

A non-Cheepskates Christmas… song #5. Co-written/performed/produced by myself and the late Michael Workstel (lead vocalist), this one is a pseudo-rockabilly pop song. I had forgotten completely about this recording until recently!

A Cheepskates Christmas… song #4, a long dreamy instrumental perfect for listening to on Christmas Eve while sitting by the fire (or watching the Yule Log channel on TV). Recorded at the sessions for the first Midnight Records Christmas comp but not released at the time.

Cheepskates Christmas song #3:

Recorded inside (and outside!) the Music Building in Manhattan. A fun, surfy instrumental about… shopping?

Cheepskates Christmas song #2, this one more Child Ballad than psych/garage - eerie, cold and a little bit sad. Out of place on the Lp it was released on but has always held a place in my heart.

It’s that time of year I guess - time to post The Cheepskates’ Christmas songs. Hard to believe we recorded these over 40 years ago! They still sound good to me, hopefully they will to you too.

Cheepskates Christmas song #1 with more than a passing nod to The Beach Boys:

A lifelong Yankee fan, but rooting HARD for the Jays. Even broke out a new box of maple cookies for luck during game 7. My condolences to all Toronto fans, but the series will be remembered as one of the greatest in history. The 2025 BlueJays were a hell of a team.

Have been listening to early Bee Gees the last few days. We all know how great they were vocally and the songwriting was outstanding. What I never paid enough attention to was just how good a bass player Maurice was. He should be in the conversation as one of the best of the era.

Yankees/BlueJays game: organist just played “No Time” by the Guess Who. I haven’t been paying close attention and wonder what other Canadian Classics I might’ve missed.

I saw Bananaball for the first time last night. Breath of fresh air after sitting through the first 3 games of the Yankees/Red Sox series.

Tryfles, Outta Place, Fuzztones, Vipers, Mosquitos and (of course) The Cheepskates live in NYC at Fuzzfest ‘84. Vinyl available wherever… um… I’m not sure where you can buy it but it’s out there. That’s 2 live Cheepskates releases and 1 live show so far in 2025! It’s been a while.
