It’s wild that the tradition of singing anthems before sports matches started with a Wales v NZ rugby match in 1905, as the Welsh wanted to drown out the haka.
The haka is a longer and more established tradition than pre-game national anthems. 🤯 No more moaning that the AB’s should stop doing it.

I suggested to my 18 year old son, who is studying adventure tourism, to have a think about moving to Queenstown for the summer to find work.

Both my boys are away camping next week (camping midwinter?!?) in Taupō and Hunua. Husband and I are going to practice being empty nesters! Neat to go out to a nice restaurant and not have to remortgage the house to feed teenage boys.
