I’ve not found any stellar content but I am a very tough critic. I’ve no tolerance for recycled stories without evidence. That kind of stuff is what turned me to the skeptical literature 30 yrs ago.

There was a rush of people on Bluesky but now it's a trickle. The quality is far better on Mastodon. But probably engagement is less. Frankly, all the Fortean types seem to have stayed on xitter, which is predictable.

Just had an incident where I had to call my local police. They were responsive, polite, and helpful. I've never had a bad experience in over 15 years. I feel so grateful. I know not everyone can say the same but there are more diligent and courteous officers out there than the opposite.

I've been on Mastodon for years and it will never have ads or algorithms or bullshit antics like corporate sites will. The platform is nonprofit. It makes the most sense overall.

I hear people are leaving this platform. Is it the inconsistent moderation? Not sure. But, let's be clear, Mastodon is independent and you can pick a server. Sure, you have to use your own blocking tools but the big servers do not tolerate fascism. Come to mstdn.social. It's cool there.

JFC!! Have you SEEN TikTok "news"!? It's a bunch of nobodies performing "news" off the top of their heads at home or via AI. Fake rumors of disasters and celebrity deaths, overblown drama and insane speculation. It's terrible.
