I've long been a supporter and admirer of @kaine.senate.gov and am baffled by his vote to confirm Noem as Sec of Homeland Security. While she does have that unique puppy killer skill on her resume, she is simply lacking in any qualifications for this position. Please, no more surprises, Tim!

Recently read Anne Lamott's beautiful opinion piece "The resistance will not be rushed" and certainly related to the feelings she described: "doomed, exhausted and quiet". I know this sentiment is shared by many right now.

Watching news of terrible D.C. plane crash & even before 1982 crash brought up, my thoughts had gone there. Folks in my hometown lost their lives in that earlier tragedy & the memory has been seared in my brain for all these years. Wishing with all my heart for the best possible outcome tonight. ❤️

Agreed. First time I reluctantly gave a pass under certain circumstances. This time, not so much.
The most exhausting thing about this era has been watching people I once respected -- personally, professionally, politically -- steadily migrate toward Trumpism. Even as Trump gets progressively nuttier and more authoritarian. Just a relentless, eight-year barrage of gut punches.
