Just to preface my next comment, I’m 100% with you on this - I don’t understand it.

It is worth noting in this conversation that Substack has been paying folks to move there and offers much more favorable revenue splits to high profile accounts. That’s a terrible reason but it is part of the “math”

I know I should "separate art from the creator" but I really struggle with giving money/time/attention to companies with bad faith people running them when I could give genuinely kind people my money instead and hope that they reinvest it into other kind people (artists, editors, etc) or endeavors.
