And fun little bonus, the story has already used Amado as a name to indicate love, Spanish from the Latin root amat, I love.
Repurposing Amaterasu here from Sasuke has that same western linguistic beginning of a Japanese mythological character name, possibly centering love as well.

I also don't think characters need a single 1:1 analogy. The name Amaterasu, that which illuminates heaven, shining in heaven, can be linked to revelation and knowledge.

There's a lot of Hindu influence influence in Naruto as well. I think it's especially possible for him to have learned more about it. The internet and libraries exist as fantastic references for writers.

Ooh that's a nice touch, because Boruto's subterfuge doesn't get revealed until the final match in the show versus the semis in the movie, there's this extra moment where Shikadai feels rightfully betrayed over the whole thing #BortYog

At the very least, it's a fun theory that (I think) was given more credibility by her revelations in chapter 21 and embrace of knowledge, ergo of a romantic variety, in addition to her dedication to restoring the world to its correct version, thus restoring everyone's original knowledge.

For all its flaws, the true heart of Boruto characters is in the anime, even if the manga tells a much more straightforward, narrative-driven story.

It's very funny that there are manga-only fans who think it's the anime's fault he's considered a brat where the anime does so much good work to give context to his behavior.
