It has been 3 years since the Government announced it would ban the sale of peat for use in the amateur gardening sector, yet there is still no law to save peat bogs. In the year 2022 to 2023, 859,660m3 of peat was dug up to supply amateur gardeners. This is enough to fill 7,641 double decker buses.
