Your narrow framing fails to address the fundamental problems with housing in America, and that cowardice harms us all.

Maybe not, but a lot of the people parroting his talking points are. What does that tell you about his policies?
Corporate-friendly means anti-worker, and anti-consumer.

Dems have been so poisoned by incrementalism that even the idea of pushing for systemic change is looked down on.

It’s not just strategically dumb, it’s economically disastrous.

Instead, he focuses almost solely on “YIMBYism” because these groups already have huge influence over zoning boards. His “solution” is deliberately watered-down and ineffective, in order to prevent true progress in the issue.

Klein won’t bring this up while discussing housing because his donors are corporations.

He also won’t discuss illegal rent fixing schemes perpetrated by these groups.

As the study says, after the financial crash, investment firms bought up homes and converted them into rental properties.

First time home-buyers were priced out of home ownership due to having to compete with these investors.

First time homebuyers are screwed, and property ownership is the main vehicle for generational wealth transfer in America, so good luck to future generations.

~25% of single family home in Atlanta are owned by investment groups.

Are you trying to argue that it’s got a negligible impact on home prices? It’s obviously a significant factor in rising housing disparity.

You’d think that a book ABOUT HOUSING would address these issues, but Klein’s approach is specifically designed to appeal to investors and corporate landlords rather than offer real solutions.

Not sure what you’re trying to argue here. Your article verifies my point that investment firms are buying up real assets at an alarming rate.

Plus, it wouldn’t matter who owns these properties while landlords engage in illegal price fixing schemes.

This may be true, but there’s nothing they were getting from Kirk that’s not easily replaced by Crowder or Pool. Even his hateful rhetoric is dime-a-dozen in the modern era.

Except for conspiracies about the assassination, Charlie’s gonna be forgotten like a fart in the wind.

Where does the tech industry find people like this? Genuinely, I never meet people who are so allergic to personal responsibility IRL.

AOC continues to act as the moral center and near-only example of leadership in the party. God I hope she runs so bad

I actually don’t think the Dem spin on who did the shutdown is necessary because it is probably a good idea to try to limit government functions if you think the ruling party is doing accelerated fascism

from the general education populace.

American classrooms commonly have ~35 students at a time. This prevents any specialized education that meets the needs of the individual student.
Parents of these students can push for their kids to be in “accelerated” classes away from their peers with lower class sizes, but it diverts resources

Whoever told you it’s a “funding issue” is in the pocket of United Healthcare.
shidass.bsky.social
A majority of Democrats support M4A and disapprove of elected officials opposing the legislation.

The issue isn’t with the electorate, it’s with our leadership. Dem elites are totally unresponsive to the preferences and needs of their base, and subsequently are hemorrhaging support.

Settling for half-measures that don’t address the core issue is not the way forward, it’s how we stagnate.

All Dems/leftists/progressives/whatever need to be unified in call to change the status quo and fix the broken systems in this country.

When The Dems have control of all three branches, they can’t even pass the defining bill of their administration to expand coverage and limit healthcare expenditures.

When The Republicans have all three, they eliminate medical coverage for millions of people.
